Yash Koriya

Hey stranger, I am Yash Koriya. Here is my pick-up line for you.

I am a lifelong student who is curious about:

  1. How to build an online business that lasts?
  2. How to become a better self?
  3. How to write better?

If you are wondering about how I ended up being excited about all this and why I started this blog, let me tell you my story.

Here’s my story

If I had to pick a turning point in my life with the biggest arc, I would say it was mid-2017 – the end of my second year in college.

In fact, the change then came was so huge that I could have easily been a model in a “Before-After” product commercial.

So, what happened?

I just got a wake-up call about my health after 19 years of taking it for granted.

One day, as I was enjoying another plate of noodles (and skipping the usual meal at my hostel), I felt some unease as if my body was rejecting the food.

This wasn’t a one-off incident. I was struggling from not being able to digest my food and vomiting it out for the past couple of months.

But this time it was different. As I went to the washroom sensing that my body was about to throw the Chinese food out, I saw it was accompanied by some blood.

My best friend rushed me to the college clinic where I was suggested to get hospitalized if I didn’t see any improvement from the medicine.

Thankfully, nothing major happened. But I knew that a change was needed.

An old roommate then suggested I should start exercising to develop enough hunger to consume my meals. I took it and complemented exercising with reading personal development books during that time.

And that was two of the best decisions of my life.

Of course, it was hard to keep the streak on, especially initially. But soon some results followed which motivated me to keep going.

I got so much into books that I read them even during my college classes. And due to that an old curiosity was ignited – entrepreneurship.

I couldn’t bear the thought of working the typical 40 hours a week for 2 days of getaway.

So, as a reader, my natural instinct was to turn towards writing. And that was when the idea of starting a blog hit me.

At the end of my college life, I got 2 job offers from multinational companies. For one, as a developer, and as a data analyst for the other.

I ended up rejecting both and decided to start from the ground up as a writer.

I took a job as digital-marketer-cum-writer with a pay that barely met my already low needs. But with time, the experience piled up and so did the salary.

Fast forward to 2023, I left my third office job to break myself out of the hidden prison that binds many with their time and location.

Currently, I am a freelance writer working for a client – no office hours, no politics, and no meetings.

It’s just about me delivering value before the deadline regardless of location and hours taken.

However, there was also another thing that pinched me continuously in my office job. As a member of a marketing team, I saw a lack of empathy by companies and employees for the clients.

It was all gloom outside but absolute doom inside.

I mean it was apparent that fulfilling the needs of their target audience was secondary for them. It was all about the company, leads, and money.

And all that is happening when the creator economy is on the rise and when solving customers’ problems with empathy is most rewarding.

It is needless to say I saw them struggle. However, sadly, those weren’t some exceptions but a pattern caused by ignorance and lack of clarity.

But, I wondered, how can ignorance and lack of clarity be a problem when we are neck deep in information on building a business and living a life well?

It didn’t take me long to figure out that this abundance of information itself is the problem.

There is too much crappy, misleading, contrasting, and untrustworthy information out there that it is easy to get numb.

Ironically, the solution I found for that is more information – but one that is research-backed and proven to give you results. And thus, this blog.

Now, it is my mission to empower creators by helping them build a life and business that makes a positive difference in people’s lives and, in turn, their own too – inside and outside.

If you are one of them, let’s start this exciting journey together by setting our hearts right. Here is a golden nugget from Zig Ziglar that forms the base of my professional life.

“You can have everything in life you want if you will just help enough other people get what they want.”
